Satellite detection system for
coastal blooms of microalgae
Chlorosat© is a processing chain for the early detection of microalgae blooms in coastal areas using multispectral and hyperspectral satellite images at different resolutions. The Chlorosat© chain can integrate in situ data from measurements of physico-chemical parameters or spectral measurements to assist in detection.
A module for quantitative estimation of chlorophyll content at pixel scale is currently being integrated into the Chlorosat© chain. The estimation will be robust to the adjacency effects, generated by coastal zones, and is intended to be deployed in operational mode for the protection of aquaculture production sites in coastal zones.
